Open: City parks, walking and bike trails

If you’ve found yourself in a bit of a rut lately, it may be time to shake things up a little and enjoy the great outdoors!  Experts tell us that enjoying Mother Nature’s bounty can be a great way to boost our mood, and there are many available options open to you and available in our own backyard!

Be sure to check out Burleson’s incredible network of walking trails and parks (a total of 348 acres!) open for your enjoyment.  Just remember to practice social distancing even when you’re outside.  For a complete list of parks and walking/running trails, here’s the parks and recreation information page and easy-to-read map for your convenience.  If you’d like to rent a park pavilion, contact the Burleson Recreation Center (theBRiCk) at 817-426-9104 or 817-426-9106.

If the thrill of a bike trail is more your speed, check out Burleson’s Coyote Loop Family Trail, and a map to six additional bike trails for a variety of easy to more adrenaline-rushing courses to enjoy solo, with friends, or family!

Our friends in Joshua can enjoy outdoor recreation and gatherings with friends and family at their city parks open each day from 5 a.m. – 11 p.m.  Playgrounds within Joshua parks are open to all, and picnic tables are available on a first come, first served basis.  If you’d like to reserve a pavilion at a local park, call the City at 817-558-7447.

Folks in Crowley have an option of three parks and recreation facilities, including Bicentennial Park with three pavilions that can be reserved by contacting the Crowley Recreation Center at 817-297-2201, ext. 7000/7010.  Bicentennial Park features new playground equipment for kids, a frisbee golf course on the grounds, as well as a quarter-mile walking track and walking path from the Crescent Springs housing addition to the park.  For additional options, check out Harry S. Teeter Park and the Dionne Bagsby All Sports Complex with its small playground area.
